How much does a solar system cost for a home in Nigeria?

A plain-language guide to what home solar really costs in Nigeria, what drives the price, and how to know the right size for your home.

How much does a solar system cost for a home in Nigeria?

A solar and battery system for a Nigerian home usually falls between about NGN 3.5m and NGN 20m, depending on how much you want to power and the kind of battery you choose. The honest answer is that the price follows your load, not the other way round.

What you are actually paying for

A home system has four parts: the inverter (the brain), the batteries (your stored power), the solar panels (your free daytime energy), and the installation (mounting, wiring, protection, and commissioning). Tier-1 equipment with proper local support costs more upfront and far less in headaches later.

A rough guide by home size

  • A 2 to 3 bedroom flat that needs lights, a fridge, fans, TVs, and sockets usually starts around NGN 8m to NGN 9m.
  • A 3 to 4 bedroom home that wants an air conditioner and the full kitchen typically lands around NGN 14m.
  • A large home or duplex with several ACs, smart-home and EV charging runs NGN 20m and up.

What drives the price up or down

The biggest factor is how much you run at night, when the battery does the work. More air conditioning means more battery. Lithium batteries cost more than tubular but last longer and handle daily cycling better, which is why we fit them for most homes.

The right way to find your number

Guessing leads to an oversized or undersized system. We size to your real appliances at a quick site visit, so you only pay for what you need. You can also get an instant ballpark with our calculator, then we confirm it.

A good installer should be able to explain every line of your quote in plain words. If they cannot, be careful.
